A. The ajmSoft ZipCode Demographic database is a collection of demographic data for each zip code in the United States. ajmZip Manager will use this data to provide demographic data on a variety of reports. A. ajmZip Manager comes with a complete geographic and demographic database. The core geographic database is the ajmSoft ZipCode Professional database which is updated monthly. The core demographic database is the ajmSoft ZipCode Demographic database which provides racial and housing demographics. Database updates can be imported directly into ajmZip Manager as needed. Database updates are available through our secure corporate eStore.Q. What kind of maps are available in ajmZip Manager?
A. ajmZip Manager can produce maps using the TIGER Mapping System made available by the US Census Bureau. An active internet connection is required for TIGER maps. Alternatively, if you own a copy of Microsoft MapPoint 2002, ajmZip Manager will produce detailed maps of each zip code or ZCTA (US Census Bureau Zip Code Tabulation Area) showing zip code boundaries as well as 3-digit zip code maps and maps of nearby zip codes.Q. Can I incorporate some features of ajmZip manager into my corporate applications?
A. Yes, ajmZip Manager Tools provide an easy to use interface for Excel, ASP, Visual Basic 6.0, VB.NET, C# and ASP.NET. A PHP version will be available soon. See our Software Products page for more information.
Q. Can I use ajmZip Manager ActiveX Tools on my public website?
The product license allows this, but you must register the ajmZip Manager Tools ActiveX DLL on your web server in order to use it on your website. If your Web Hosting provider will not allow this, you need ajmZip Manager Tools for ASP.
Q. What is the difference between ajmZip Manager ActiveX Tools and ajmZip Manager Tools for ASP?
The ActiveX tools are delivered as an ActiveX dll and can be used in any environment that supports ActiveX, including Excel, MS Word, MS Access, Visual Basic, C++, Delphi, ASP, .NET, etc. ajmZip Manager Tools for ASP is delivered as VBA source code and designed specifically for use with Active Server Pages. It should be used if you cannot register the ActiveX DLL onto your web server. This is generally true if your web site is hosted by a third party.Q. Can ajmZip Manager Tools for ASP be used in my Microsoft Office applications?
Yes, these tools can be used in any application that supports Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). However, ajmZip Manager ActiveX Tools are the better choice for MS Office applications like MS Access, Excel, etc.Q. After installing ajmZip Manager on my Windows NT system. I start the application and receive a "cannot initialize data bindings" message when I perform a Zip Code lookup. How can I fix this?
Some installations of Windows 98, Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 require a patch for ajmZip Manager to operate correctly. If you receive any of these messages
- A required .DLL file, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found
- One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found
- cannot initialize data bindings
- Runtime Error 339: followed by a message indicating a component is missing

Q. On occasion, creating the TIGER maps takes a long time. Can I optimize my system to create the maps more quickly? Can I include the maps in my spreadsheets and word processing documents?
TIGER Maps are created by the US Census Bureau TIGER Mapping System and downloaded by ajmZip Manager via the internet. Speed is dependent on your connection, internet traffic at the time and the load on the TIGER Mapping server. A fast internet connection will improve download times slightly. You can save the map as a picture (.bmp or .jpg) and import them into your application.
