Professional Series
Frequently Asked Questions
| Q. | I need more than 10 pages on my site and some of the pages don't quite fit the categories you have. Can I ask for additional pages and different types of pages? How much will it cost? |
| A. | If you need more pre-defined pages - for example, additional product pages - they can be added for minimal cost ($15-$25 per page). Any new pages that we design for you will be charged at our standard rates. A page that requires static content, that is text and graphics, will rarely exceed $50. |
| Q. | How do I change my web site after it's up and running? |
| A. | You can maintain it yourself using Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Front Page or, in some cases, Microsoft Publisher. If you don't have the time to learn how to do this, we will work with you to keep your site up to date for nominal fees. If you expect to make very few changes to your site (less than 24/year) take a look at our Web Site Management program which offers up to 24 updates/year for $299. |
| Q. | Can you install a web storefront? |
| A. | Yes, but the Professional series is designed for web site that primarily provides information to your customers or prospects. A storefront is generally more complex and would require one of our other web site programs. Please contact us for details. |
| Q. | Can I use Microsoft Word to keep my web site up to date? |
| A. | Microsoft Word is an outstanding word processor and can produce web pages, but we do not recommend it for modifying our web sites. |
| Q. | The Professional Series is designed primarily for use with Internet Explorer. Why don't you provide support for other, non-Microsoft, browsers? |
| A. | Our web sites are designed primarily for Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher running on computers with a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher. The leading browsers , in order of popularity are:
The leading non-Microsoft browser is Mozilla with less than 2% of the market. The reality is that 95% of all internet access is through Microsoft's Internet Explorer*. This makes it impractical to accommodate non-Microsoft browsers. That said, you should understand that there is a high degree of compatibility between browsers. There are very few features that cause problems with the other browsers and even though we do not test our site with them, our Professional Series work quite well with Opera, Mozilla and Netscape 6.0 and higher. That represents better than 99% of all internet use. |
