ajmScout V2.40 Released February 2, 2004

ajmScout V2.40 is now available. Current licensees of V2.00 or higher are entitled to a no-charge upgrade to V2.40. Take a look at the upgrade instructions for details.

ajmScout Network Resource Monitor Version 2.4 is a major new release containing a series of enhancements requested by our customers. The product improvements are focused on ease of use and advanced product features.

What's New in Version 2.4

Native Support for XML Web Services
ajmScout will now monitor an XML Web Service. Setup is easy - just point to the WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and ajmScout will allow you to select the method you need to monitor. You may enter any required parameters and the criteria needed to determine if the test passes or fails. ajmScout does the rest.

Improved Management Reports
We've added a number of management reports to help monitor availability and response time. The reports include an Availability Summary report showing overall availability by server in graphical form, a Response Time Report that graphs server response times over the life of the test and a Management Summary Report that highlights the overall performance of each server.

Server Test Reset
We've added a reset feature that allows you to clear all server test counters and history without deleting the server test. This feature is available from the Administrator .

Improved Test Timings
Test times are now measured using a high-resolution timer that will provide more consistent and accurate timings.

Improved Time Server Handling
All ajmScout processes are now coordinated so that the system time is no longer updated when the Administrator is started but only at the frequency specified in the Options panel. You can now test the connection to a Time Server from the Options panel to insure that it's working properly.

Executive Runtime Statistics
The Executive now records and can display runtime statistics including a count of tests executed, peak concurrent tests executed, etc.
